The Nogales City Recreation Center hosted a marvelous fashion show on April 9, 2011. Many local children and young adults were featured in fashionable spring and summer attire despite the cold spell that weekend. The event also had raffles, food and music to accompany the show which proceeds went to benefit the St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic in Nogales, AZ. As the event began, masters of ceremonies, Salvador Diaz and Maria Amelia Meléndez, presented St. Andrews’ representatives Coca Romero and Laura Romero who said, “Welcome to all the guests here tonight, and thank you. Many hours were invested into making this fashion show a reality. [We] hope you all enjoy the beautiful show,” Romero concluded.
The show continued with colorful fashions and clothing, including dance numbers by VA Dance Studio titled “Bailable Taitiano”.
The event concluded at 9 p.m. with special guests, Clarisa Maria Silva (Princesa Fiestas de Mayo 2009), Marissa Sihas Castillo (Reyna Fiestas de Mayo 2010), Kariza Lizarraga, Sara Sanchez (Debutante 2011), and Andrea Grambs Parra (Debutante 2011) on the catwalk for the final time of the night.
Heartfelt appreciation was given to all the organizers and sponsors who made the event possible.
